El mercado general de interpretación en Estados Unidos está constituido por múltiples estratos que actúan como mercados independientes regidos en su mayoría por factores comerciales. No obstante que en el ámbito legal los integrantes de la profesión se han empeñado por muchos años en instrumentar mecanismos de certificación y compensación justa para personal calificado, el ámbito de conferencias se desenvuelve en un entorno caótico en el cual no existen normas profesionales pese a que muchos de los proveedores del servicio también operan en la rama legal más estructurada.

La ponencia pretende describir a grandes razgos las diferentes dinámicas y problemáticas que ocurren en el mercado de la interpretación, tanto legal como de conferencias. Así mismo el ponente hablará de su experiencia personal y los diferentes retos y obstáculos que ha tenido que encarar, y aún sigue encarando, al tratar de desenvolverse como Intérprete Profesional en Estados Unidos.
